Refreshing a brand, and driving double-digit growth in traffic and new store sales
The Challenge
For 75+ years, Kings Food Markets had a legacy of providing consumers with superior-quality foods, unique products and unrivaled service, but it was struggling to compete in an ultra-competitive marketplace with bigger, high-end national supermarkets. The brand needed to revitalize itself to attract new, younger and more food-conscious shoppers.
Our Approach
By tapping into the aspirational target’s view of food as a form of self-expression, we orchestrated a brand overhaul, rooted in a new logo and tagline: “Where Inspiration Strikes.” We matched a refreshed in-store experience with an enticing new website. To drive traffic, we activated an integrated marketing campaign and reimagined grand openings with pasta-ribbon cuttings, an SME program to reach national to hyperlocal outlets as well as exclusive shopper experiences and sweepstakes.
